In 2004, the Tennessee Valley Corridor was recognized by the U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration as one of the top two regional economic development programs in the nation. The Corridor tied with the famed Research Triangle Partnership in North Carolina as the nation's most outstanding economic development organization designed to “enhance regional competitiveness.”

In addition to drawing the interest and participation from key corporate investment prospects in a variety of high-tech industries, past Corridor activities have also led to a number of significant tangible accomplishments in the region to advance its economic development including:
